Remote Switchboard Operator

Job Summary

To support federal facility operations, the full-time Remote Switchboard Operator will manage incoming calls, route them to appropriate personnel, and provide general information while ensuring professional communication and emergency notification protocols are followed.

Key responsibilities

• Answer a high volume of incoming calls and route them to the correct offices or personnel
• Operate multi-line VoIP or PBX telephone systems, including transferring and paging functions
• Maintain accurate logs and records for emergency and security-related calls while ensuring confidentiality

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum one year of experience operating a multi-line telephone system or similar communications position
• Ability to type at least 30 words per minute and navigate software systems while handling calls
• Familiarity with VoIP, PBX, or similar communication systems preferred
• Must be a U.S. citizen due to federal security restrictions
