Job Summary

A staffing firm is filling a position for a Remote Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Aetna.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

• Act as a resource for teachers, students, and parents to help improve learning and development for visually impaired students
• Provide quality services to special education students
• Provide special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff

Qualifications Include:

• Teaching license with endorsement for Visually Impaired (TVI license)
• At least 2 years of school setting experience
• Prepare student education plans in consultation with parents and IEP team members
• Design instruction, both individual and small group, which parallels the general education curriculum
• Serve as the coordinator of IEP implementation with general education staff
• Monitor student progress, participates in review and revision of student’s IEP, as appropriate
