Job Summary

A staffing agency is seeking a Remote Ubuntu Maintenance Server Engineer in New York City.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

  • Collaborating proactively with a distributed team
  • Assisting in the maintenance of Ubuntu Server packages
  • Becoming involved in planning of new Ubuntu features

Must meet the following requirements for consideration:

  • Proven track record of at least 5 years professional software delivery using C, C++, Python or a similar widely used language
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies
  • Familiarity with open source development tools and methodologies used in creating Ubuntu
  • Launchpad, Git, Debian packaging tools APT, dpkg, debhelper
  • Excellent logic, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Degree level education in a technology field, or equivalent experience
