Remote VP of Design

Job Summary

Owning the measurable quality of user experience, the full-time Remote VP of Design will manage design performance metrics, lead and scale a remote team of Product and UX/UI Designers, and govern the adoption of the design system while ensuring usability across complex payment and banking features.

Key responsibilities

• Take direct accountability for usability and conversion metrics across core flows and report progress quarterly
• Line-manage and develop a remote team of designers, setting clear output expectations and removing dependencies
• Own the adoption and compliance of the Xapo Design System across all platforms and features

Required qualifications

• 8+ years in design, including 4+ years at Director/VP level in a regulated digital bank or high-scale fintech
• Demonstrable history of improving product metrics through design changes with supporting data
• Proven experience building and governing a component-driven design system across multiple teams
• Experience in mapping and shipping complex, multi-step flows in fintech or crypto environments
• Working knowledge of transaction states, card networks, and blockchain payment flows
