Research Accounting Manager

Job Summary

Managing a team of accountants, the full-time salaried Research Accounting Manager will oversee the financial administration of approximately 2,600 sponsored awards, focusing on post-award management and team development in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct the work of Sponsored Projects Accounting (SPA) accountants to ensure effective management of sponsored awards
• Onboard and train new team members while evaluating performance and guiding their professional development
• Interpret and communicate relevant federal, state, and local regulations related to research administration operations and policies

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
• 6+ years of experience in post-award management of sponsored grants and contracts or managerial accounting
• Knowledge of Uniform Guidance and Federal Acquisition Regulations
• Experience with Microsoft Office and relevant computer systems
• Ability to manage a high volume of complex projects and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
