Job Summary
To support the Oregon Climate Change Research Institute, the full-time salaried Research Associate in Hydroclimate will conduct climate analyses related to hydroclimate variability and fire weather, communicate findings to diverse audiences, and collaborate on study design for relevant hydroclimate topics, with options for remote or hybrid work.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct analyses on hydroclimate variability and fire weather impacts on economic risk in the Pacific Northwest
- Communicate analytical methods and results effectively to both scientific and non-technical audiences
- Collaborate with OCCRI, OCS, and other partners to finalize study designs for hydroclimate-related analyses
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Earth science, atmospheric science, or a related field
- Understanding of hydroclimate and fire weather science
- Expertise in the analysis of global climate models
- Experience applying climate data to assess financial risk
- Ability to communicate complex climate topics in various formats to diverse audiences
