Job Summary
To support university clients, the full-time Research Compliance Consultant will implement and maintain research security and export controls compliance programs, serving as a subject matter expert and collaborating with various institutional leaders to promote adherence to federal regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee adherence to federal regulations and institutional policies related to research security and export controls
- Execute compliance program activities, including risk assessments and corrective actions, while coordinating with other assurance functions
- Manage the institution's export control program, including making determinations and overseeing the license process with federal agencies
Required qualifications
- In-depth understanding of ITAR, EAR, OFAC regulations, and federal contracting requirements
- Proven experience in developing and implementing research compliance programs or global trade compliance
- A Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of direct experience or an equivalent combination of relevant advanced degree and experience
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Experience interpreting federal regulations and synthesizing complex regulatory information
