Job Summary
Experienced research contracts negotiators will find a full-time salaried opportunity as a Research Contracts Program Manager, responsible for managing a portfolio of complex sponsored research agreements while collaborating with faculty and external partners to protect the University's interests.
Key responsibilities
- Independently review, draft, negotiate, and execute various research-related agreements, including Material Transfer Agreements and Confidentiality Agreements
- Lead contract negotiations with academic institutions, industry sponsors, and government agencies to facilitate research while safeguarding the University's legal and financial interests
- Analyze agreement terms to identify risks and negotiate solutions that align sponsor expectations with University policies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 3 years of direct experience negotiating sponsored research agreements for a university or similar organization
- Demonstrated experience with research-related agreements, including Sponsored Research Agreements and Non-Disclosure Agreements
- Experience negotiating terms involving intellectual property, publication rights, and compliance with sponsor regulations
- Ability to independently lead negotiations while balancing institutional risk and research objectives
