Research Director

Job Summary

Providing strategic and operational leadership, the full-time Research Director will manage core research functions and oversee a multidisciplinary team to deliver actionable data and analysis aimed at mitigating political violence in the U.S., working fully remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a core member of the Senior Leadership Team, advising on research opportunities and aligning activities with organizational goals
• Oversee participatory research and data tools, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and the integrity of research outputs
• Directly manage and mentor research staff, fostering professional growth and facilitating cross-team collaboration

Required qualifications

• 8-10+ years of experience in research leadership, conflict analysis, or public policy, with significant team management experience
• Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, with a strong track record of maintaining data integrity
• Experience in managing data-driven projects using R and Tableau for analysis and visualization
• Exceptional editing, writing, and presentation skills for translating technical data into accessible narratives
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience required
