Research Director for Water Innovation

Job Summary

Leading the research program for the National Alliance for Water Innovation, the Research Director for Water Innovation will oversee a collaborative research portfolio focused on innovative water treatment technologies and regional water planning, with the flexibility to work part-time or full-time in a hybrid or remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee NAWI's research portfolio in collaboration with Topic Area Leads and project leads
• Build strong relationships with researchers across various water-related fields, including hydrology and public policy
• Develop annual research budgets and manage resources within approved guidelines and regulations

Required qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years' experience in research, leadership, or administration in water treatment technology or regional water planning
• Familiarity with water treatment processes, regulatory policies, and global trends in water resource management
• Proven ability to collaborate and lead diverse teams effectively
• Track record of responsible stewardship of federal and other funds
• Subject matter expertise in the water industry, including technology development and commercialization
