Research Director, Water Innovation

Job Summary

Leading the research program for the National Alliance for Water Innovation (NAWI), the Research Director will oversee a diverse research portfolio focused on innovative water treatment technologies and regional planning, with the flexibility to work part-time or full-time in a hybrid or remote capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee NAWI's research portfolio in collaboration with Topic Area Leads and project leads
• Build strong relationships with researchers across various water-related fields and support Topic Area Leads in their roles
• Develop and manage annual research budgets while ensuring compliance with guidelines and regulations

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in research, leadership, or administration in water treatment technology or regional water planning
• Familiarity with water treatment processes, regulatory policy, and global water resource trends
• Proven ability to lead and collaborate with diverse teams
• Experience in technology development and commercialization from research to market adoption
• Advanced degree in relevant disciplines is strongly desirable
