Research Engineer I

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Research Engineer I to develop and maintain offshore software products.

Key Responsibilities

• Program and document numerical algorithms for engineering and mathematical calculations
• Troubleshoot engineering design modules and provide technical support and documentation
• Develop and expand post-processing capabilities for offshore products and contribute to finite element analysis software development

Required Qualifications

• Advanced (MS, PhD) degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related disciplines
• Understanding of linear and nonlinear numerical techniques and structural analysis methods
• Experience in software development using at least one programming language (C++, Python, Fortran)
• Industry experience with design and analysis software for structural and offshore structures
• Knowledge of engineering codes such as API, AISC, DNV, ABS, and ISO 19902 is a plus
