Research Finance Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing nephrology division, the full-time Research Finance Specialist will manage financial transactions, oversee expenditure reconciliation, and engage with faculty on grant and contract management in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and summarize financial transactions to provide insights on the unit's financial position
• Capture, track, and report revenue and expenses while resolving issues related to complex accounts
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute to project teams supporting new initiatives

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus four years of applicable experience, or a combination of education and relevant work experience
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting systems and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Experience managing sponsored research at an academic institution
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences
