Job Summary

Leading research initiatives in criminal justice, the full-time remote Research Scientist in Criminal Justice will manage the Consortium to Advance Police Supervision (CAPS), conduct applied research on police supervision, and develop training resources for law enforcement professionals.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Consortium to Advance Police Supervision (CAPS) while engaging with police agencies and stakeholders
  • Lead and collaborate on research projects related to police supervision and public safety, including data collection and analysis
  • Develop and deliver training and technical assistance for law enforcement practitioners, translating research findings into actionable resources
Required qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in social science or related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in policing or criminal justice
  • Demonstrated expertise in first-line police supervision and applied research methodologies
  • Experience working directly with law enforcement agencies on research, training, or technical assistance initiatives
  • Strong background in both qualitative and quantitative research, including familiarity with statistical analysis tools
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver professional development resources for law enforcement audiences
