Job Summary
Leading the design, development, and testing of a cutting-edge robotic inventory system, the full-time Research Scientist in Tennessee will independently manage complex programming tasks, execute experiments, and author scientific manuscripts while working onsite or remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Develop complex computer programs using expert-level Python, integrating sensors and GPS-based navigation for tree inventory
- Plan and execute laboratory and field experiments to validate system accuracy and write detailed test reports
- Evaluate experimental outcomes, troubleshoot issues, and implement course corrections to ensure project success
Required qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Information Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer Programming
- At least three years of experience in design, development, methods, and data analysis for research projects
- Minimum of two years providing consultative services for research projects
- Three years of programming experience with Python
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered
