Job Summary
To support university clients in enhancing their research security and export controls compliance programs, the full-time Research Security Consultant will implement and maintain compliance initiatives, serve as a subject matter expert, and collaborate with various functional leaders while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and oversee research security and export controls compliance programs, ensuring adherence to federal regulations and institutional policies
- Conduct risk assessments, develop work plans, and manage the export control license process with federal agencies
- Build collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, and external parties to promote a culture of compliance and ethics in research activities
Required qualifications
- In-depth understanding of ITAR, EAR, OFAC regulations, and federal contracting requirements
- Proven experience in developing and implementing research compliance programs or global trade compliance
- A Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Experience in interpreting federal regulations and developing training materials
