Job Summary
Seeking a full-time Researcher III - Energy Systems Optimization, the successful candidate will focus on mathematical optimization and its application to energy systems, collaborating with experts to develop and implement optimization algorithms while integrating AI techniques.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with domain experts to identify viable mathematical optimization approaches and stay updated on related research
- Develop and implement mathematical, computing, and simulation frameworks for evaluating optimization algorithms
- Identify opportunities to enhance classical optimization algorithms using AI and reinforcement learning techniques
Required qualifications:
- PhD in a relevant field, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience
- Strong understanding of optimization fundamentals and experience with optimization solvers such as CPLEX or Gurobi
- Proficiency in programming with Python and/or Julia, and familiarity with Pyomo and/or JuMP
- Experience with distributed computing frameworks like MPI and OpenMP
- Experience with scalable machine learning frameworks, such as PyTorch
