Residential Underwriting Manager

Job Summary

Leading a remote team of residential mortgage underwriters, the full-time Residential Underwriting Manager will ensure accurate and timely credit decisions while providing coaching, quality control oversight, and operational support to maintain exceptional customer service and sound credit risk management practices.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, coach, mentor, and develop a team of residential mortgage underwriters
• Monitor underwriting pipelines and workload distribution to ensure timely loan decisions
• Serve as a subject matter expert for underwriting guidelines and credit policy interpretation

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred
• Minimum 7-10 years of residential mortgage underwriting experience
• Minimum 3-5 years of underwriting leadership or management experience
• DE (Direct Endorsement) Certification preferred
• Extensive knowledge of agency, government, jumbo, and non-QM underwriting guidelines
