Retail Financial Controller

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time remote Retail Financial Controller, the successful candidate will manage full-cycle accounting operations, provide strategic financial insights to retail business leaders, and oversee inventory management while driving process improvements across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to retail business presidents, providing tailored financial insights and recommendations
• Lead full-cycle accounting operations, including month-end and year-end closes, reconciliations, and inventory accounting
• Identify and implement process improvements in accounting systems and inventory management practices

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in a Controller or Senior Accounting role
• Proven experience in retail accounting, preferably with multi-location operations
• Background in small to medium-sized businesses; fractional or outsourced accounting experience a plus
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, POS systems, and Excel
