RHEL Engineer

Job Summary

Providing technical expertise and advisory services, the remote RHEL Engineer will lead the strategy and execution of automating OS security and patching processes for a financial services customer, focusing on CI/CD components to enhance vulnerability remediation and upgrade timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct solutions design sessions to identify current upgrade pain points and assist the customer in designing future state patching processes
• Develop automation for certification and distribution of kernel/OS config snapshots, and execute the patching/upgrade workflow while troubleshooting with engineering teams
• Create and maintain a standard RHEL patching/upgrade workflow, building a knowledge base for the in-place upgrade process

Required qualifications

• US Citizenship
• 10+ years of experience with RHEL deployments, hardening, and operations
• Strong proficiency in Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) and Python
• Proven understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience in automating deployment processes
• Experience in creating technical documentation and facilitating technical workshops
