RHIA Licensed DRG Validator

Job Summary

A company is looking for a DRG Validator to review inpatient coded records and ensure compliance with coding guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily coding reviews for HACs, PSIs, and focused DRGs to validate assigned ICD-10 CM/PCS Codes
• Collaborate with the Quality Department for quality reviews and assist in process improvements for data quality
• Evaluate clinical documentation quality and identify trends for coding opportunities using the SMART Tool

Required Qualifications and Education

• Formal Health Information Management (HIM) education with RHIA or RHIT certification
• Five years or more of progressive inpatient coding experience in an acute care hospital
• Two years of auditing experience or strong training background in coding and reimbursement
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification
• Ability to work independently in a multi-task remote environment
