Job Summary
To support the Rhode Island workload, a fully remote Rhode Island Licensed Distribution Engineer will develop construction work packages for electric distribution systems, utilizing various software tools and engineering calculations, with a requirement to be onsite once a month after initial training.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems, focusing on programmatic work such as overloaded transformers and inspection reports
- Ensure compliance with quality control, safety practices, and project scope, schedule, and budget
- Perform engineering calculations, including structural analysis, fault currents, and coordination of protective devices
Required qualifications
- BS degree with 0-1 years of experience, or BA/AS degree with 2 years relevant experience, or HS diploma with 6 years of experience for Level 1; BS degree + 2 years relevant experience or equivalent for Level 2
- Experience with ESRI, AutoCAD, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a plus
- Familiarity with pole loading software (O-Calc, SPIDA Calc) and SAP
- Experience in distribution design projects involving medium voltage switchgear and distribution automation
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams
