Rhode Island Licensed Distribution Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Rhode Island workload, a fully remote Rhode Island Licensed Distribution Engineer will develop construction work packages for electric distribution systems, utilizing various software tools and engineering calculations, with a requirement to be onsite once a month after initial training.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems, focusing on programmatic work such as overloaded transformers and inspection reports
• Ensure compliance with quality control, safety practices, and project scope, schedule, and budget
• Perform engineering calculations, including structural analysis, fault currents, and coordination of protective devices

Required qualifications

• BS degree with 0-1 years of experience, or BA/AS degree with 2 years relevant experience, or HS diploma with 6 years of experience for Level 1; BS degree + 2 years relevant experience or equivalent for Level 2
• Experience with ESRI, AutoCAD, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a plus
• Familiarity with pole loading software (O-Calc, SPIDA Calc) and SAP
• Experience in distribution design projects involving medium voltage switchgear and distribution automation
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams
