Rhode Island Licensed Distribution Engineer

Job Summary

To support Rhode Island's electric distribution system, the full-time salaried Rhode Island Licensed Distribution Engineer will develop construction work packages, perform engineering calculations, and manage project tasks remotely after initial in-office training.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop construction work packages for overhead and underground electrical distribution systems
• Ensure compliance with quality control, project scope, schedule, and budget
• Perform engineering calculations including structural analysis and coordination of protective devices

Required qualifications

• BS degree with 0-1 years of experience, or BA/AS degree with 2 years relevant experience, or HS diploma with 6 years of experience
• Experience with ESRI, AutoCAD, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a plus
• Familiarity with pole loading software and SAP
• Experience in distribution design projects involving medium voltage switchgear
• Knowledge of civil and electrical package development in urban environments
