Job Summary
To support the Rhode Island workload, a fully remote Rhode Island Licensed Distribution Engineer will develop construction work packages for electric distribution systems, utilizing various software systems and ensuring compliance with project standards after an initial in-office training period.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop construction work packages for overhead and underground electrical distribution systems, focusing on programmatic work
- Perform engineering calculations including structural analysis, electric demand, and fault currents while ensuring compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget
- Facilitate permit acquisition, prepare forestry trimming requests, and advocate for customers regarding easements and contributions in aid of construction
Required qualifications
- BS degree in engineering or related field with relevant experience, or equivalent combinations of education and experience
- Experience with ESRI, AutoCAD, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is preferred
- Familiarity with pole loading software and SAP
- Experience in distribution design projects, including medium voltage switchgear and distribution automation
- Ability to develop civil and electrical packages for complex cable/conduit installations in urban environments
