Rhode Island Licensed Distribution Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Rhode Island Licensed Distribution Engineer, this full-time remote position will manage the development of construction work packages for electric distribution systems after an initial training period in-office, requiring monthly visits.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems, focusing on programmatic work
• Ensure compliance with quality control, safety practices, and project scope, schedule, and budget
• Perform engineering calculations and prepare necessary documentation for projects, including forestry trimming requests and cost estimates

Required qualifications

• BS degree in engineering or related field with varying experience levels depending on position (0-8 years)
• Familiarity with ESRI, AutoCAD, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is preferred
• Experience with pole loading software and SAP
• Knowledge of distribution design projects, including medium voltage switchgear and distribution automation
• Experience in developing civil and electrical packages for complex urban environments
