Rhode Island Licensed Distribution Engineer

Job Summary

To support Rhode Island's electric distribution system, the full-time salaried Rhode Island Licensed Distribution Engineer will develop construction work packages, perform engineering calculations, and ensure compliance with project standards while working remotely after an initial training period in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems
• Perform engineering calculations, including structural analysis and coordination of protective devices
• Prepare forestry trimming requests and facilitate permit and Right-of-Way acquisition

Required qualifications

• BS degree in engineering with relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with AutoCAD, ESRI, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
• Familiarity with pole loading software and SAP
• Experience in distribution design projects involving medium voltage switchgear and voltage conversion
• Ability to develop civil and electrical packages for complex urban environments
