Job Summary
To support electric distribution projects in Rhode Island, the full-time salaried Rhode Island Licensed Distribution Engineer will develop construction work packages for overhead and underground distribution systems, utilizing various engineering software and ensuring compliance with project standards.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop construction work packages for electrical distribution systems, focusing on programmatic work such as overloaded transformers and inspection reports
- Perform engineering calculations, including structural analysis, fault currents, and coordination of protective devices
- Facilitate permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, prepare forestry trimming requests, and advocate for customer needs
Required qualifications
- BS degree with 0-1 years of experience or equivalent qualifications based on experience
- Experience with ESRI, AutoCAD, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a plus
- Familiarity with pole loading software and SAP
- Experience in distribution design projects, including medium voltage switchgear and voltage conversion
- Knowledge of civil and electrical package development in urban environments
