Risk Model Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the gas distribution risk models within an AI-driven threat and risk management platform, the full-time Risk Model Engineer will collaborate with subject-matter experts to define and develop models, focusing on large populations of buried assets while working remotely from the US or Canada.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate the gas distribution threat framework into systematic threat identification methods and integrate model inputs from diverse datasets
• Extend threat coverage across domains, including legacy material corrosion and excavation damage
• Identify gaps and limitations in source data and determine their impact on model inputs and outputs

Required Qualifications

• Experience in gas distribution integrity management program design and threat identification under 49 CFR Part 192, Subpart P
• Knowledge of legacy material risks, including cast iron, bare steel, and vintage plastics
• Familiarity with leak survey, methane detection, and cross-bore programs
• Experience applying machine learning to physical asset data, including time-series and anomaly detection models
• Strong understanding of model validation and evidence-based risk ranking methodologies
