RN CDI Specialist

Job Summary

To support a flexible CDI department, the full-time RN CDI Specialist will facilitate physician documentation, conduct medical record reviews, and collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate clinical documentation while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Completes initial and ongoing patient medical record reviews and enters findings in the CDE software system
• Clarifies documentation with physicians and educates healthcare providers on clinical documentation improvement
• Partners with coding professionals to ensure accuracy in diagnostic data and prepares appeals for third-party payors

Required qualifications:

• Current RN Licensure
• Minimum of five years of acute care nursing experience, preferably in medical/surgical, Intensive Care, or Emergency Department settings
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire
• Excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency in physician relations
• Ability to adapt to different environments and workflows, demonstrating openness to innovation
