RN CDI Specialist

Job Summary

To support a flexible CDI department, the full-time RN CDI Specialist will manage physician documentation for patient clinical conditions, ensuring accurate medical records and coding while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient medical record reviews, documenting findings in the CDE software system
• Clarify documentation with physicians and educate healthcare providers on clinical documentation improvement
• Collaborate with coding professionals and assist in quality assurance and special projects within the CDI Float Pool Team

Required qualifications:

• Current RN Licensure
• Minimum of five years of acute care nursing experience, with a focus on medical/surgical, Intensive Care, or Emergency Department settings
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire
• Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in physician relations
• Ability to adapt to various environments and workflows within the CDI department
