RN Medical Coding Consultant
Job Summary
Leading cross-functional initiatives related to Medical Policy and Coding, the full-time RN Medical Coding Consultant will manage projects, conduct clinical research, and develop evidence-based policies while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Research and maintain coding standards including CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS to meet business needs
- Independently manage special projects and draft/revise complex medical policies
- Prepare recommendations for internal and client audits, collaborating with various stakeholders
Required qualifications
- Current, non-restricted clinical license
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required; Advanced Practice Provider degree is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years in a clinical setting with medical coding experience, preferably in managed care
- Certification from the American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC) in Medical Coding is required
- Strong working knowledge of claims processes and healthcare regulations
