RN Status Review Specialist - IL

Job Summary

Utilizing nursing expertise in a strategic, non-bedside role, the full-time RN Status Review Specialist - IL will evaluate patient cases, ensure appropriate care and coverage decisions, and collaborate with providers to drive quality outcomes while working remotely during standard business hours, Monday through Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Reviews electronic medical records and screens clinical information against nationally recognized criteria
• Communicates with physicians regarding patient admission status and collaborates on Condition Code 44 accounts
• Identifies and escalates barriers to department leadership while participating in team improvement initiatives

Required qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education for licensing
• Two years of acute care nursing experience
• Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Prior experience in Utilization Management (UM) is highly preferred
• Knowledge of EPIC software is highly preferred
