ROI Medical Records Specialist

Job Summary

Processing release of information requests efficiently, the full-time ROI Medical Records Specialist will ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations while providing excellent customer service in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Completes release of information requests by retrieving and transmitting medical records according to established procedures
• Validates requests and authorizations for medical information release while performing quality checks for accuracy and confidentiality
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area and equipment, ensuring compliance with client policies and state/federal regulations

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED) required
• A minimum of 2 years prior experience in a medical records department or similar setting preferred
• Strong computer software experience, with general working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
• Ability to type 50 wpm and use fax, copier, and scanning machines
• Proven customer satisfaction skills and excellent organizational abilities
