ROI Medical Records Specialist

Job Summary

Processing release of information requests, the full-time ROI Medical Records Specialist will ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations while providing exceptional customer service in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Completes release of information requests by retrieving, scanning, and transmitting medical records according to established procedures
• Validates requests and authorizations, performs quality checks, and maintains confidentiality and security of patient information
• Provides excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, ensuring understanding of requests, and proactively identifying client concerns

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED) required
• A minimum of 2 years prior experience in a medical records department or similar setting preferred
• Strong computer software experience, with a general working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
• Ability to type 50 wpm and use fax, copier, and scanning machines
• Excellent organizational skills and proven customer satisfaction skills
