Job Summary

Passionate about romance publishing, the full-time salaried Romance Editor will acquire, edit, and manage both adult fiction and young adult authors while collaborating closely with bestselling and emerging writers in a hybrid or remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Editorial Director on long-range planning and list management for Bloom Books and Bloom YA
• Identify and solicit manuscripts for publication, analyzing marketplace needs to establish project lists and schedules
• Develop manuscripts for content and structure, while working with marketing and sales teams on positioning and promotional strategies

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of publishing experience
• Proven initiative and leadership skills in book and product development
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• A deep love for books and a flexible approach to author collaboration
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
