RPG Developer

Job Summary

To support a large-scale enterprise client, the contract RPG Developer will design, develop, test, and deploy applications on the IBM iSeries platform while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RPG applications, including troubleshooting production issues and optimizing database performance
• Collaborate with business analysts to translate functional requirements into technical specifications and participate in Agile ceremonies
• Perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• 7+ years of hands-on RPG software development experience on the IBM iSeries (AS/400) platform
• Working knowledge of IBM iSeries technologies, including DB2 for iSeries and the Integrated File System (IFS)
• Solid understanding of relational database design and advanced SQL on DB2 for iSeries
• Demonstrated ability to work within a managed services or outsourced delivery model with defined SLAs
