Ruby on Rails Developer

Job Summary

To support the development of a fun and engaging online dating platform, the contract Ruby on Rails Developer will work remotely, focusing on building and maintaining quality user-centric products while collaborating closely with the lead developer and founder.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain user-focused applications using Ruby on Rails and JavaScript/jQuery
• Modernize legacy areas of the codebase and ensure code quality and maintainability
• Integrate third-party APIs and manage background jobs with Sidekiq and Redis

Required qualifications

• Proven experience with Ruby on Rails and JavaScript/jQuery
• Familiarity with Git & GitHub for version control
• Experience with PostgreSQL and background job processing using Sidekiq
• Knowledge of Redis caching and basic Linux VPS maintenance
• Experience with third-party API integrations, particularly Facebook oAuth
