Russian/Ukrainian Linguist

Job Summary

To support sensitive law enforcement work, a part-time Russian/Ukrainian Linguist will perform real-time and recorded transcription from Russian/Ukrainian to English, capturing accurate written products and communicating pertinent information to law enforcement personnel in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Produce verbal and written synopses and transcriptions from live or recorded communications in Russian/Ukrainian
• Maintain a master list of slang terms and codes used by specific groups/organizations throughout the project
• Transcribe and translate pertinent calls and documents, ensuring accuracy and court-ready formatting

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum one year of translation experience in Russian/Ukrainian
• Knowledge of Russian/Ukrainian colloquialisms, slang terms, and regional expressions
• Ability to meet a score of 3 or better on a third-party language assessment in English, Russian, and Ukrainian
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications
