Safety Associate

Job Summary

Providing remote supportive care, the part-time Safety Associate will collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and comfort while monitoring patients and reporting observations to nursing staff during daytime hours from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and observe assigned patients to ensure their safety and report any changes in condition to appropriate staff
• Engage with patients, families, and the interprofessional team to deliver compassionate and coordinated care
• Complete necessary documentation and reports related to patient care and safety

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• Knowledge of patient rights and safety practices in a healthcare environment
• Ability to document health information accurately in written or electronic form
• Completion of a Patient/Sitter Companion Program and/or De-Escalation class is preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is preferred
