Safety Assurance Director

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Sr. Director, Safety Assurance & Operational Readiness (ORV).

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect the Operational Readiness Verification (ORV) framework, including safety criteria and verification logic
• Lead preparation and execution phases, ensuring safety audits and operational exercises are conducted effectively
• Oversee continuous safety monitoring, including occurrence reporting, compliance, and safety training programs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Safety Assurance, Flight Standards, or ORV/ORAT at a major carrier or aerospace OEM
• Expert-level understanding of FAA Part 5 (SMS) and aviation safety culture
• Familiarity with risk modeling techniques such as BowTie Analysis and FMEA
• Experience with systems thinking related to autonomous vehicle technology
• Ability to work with large datasets to identify safety trends
