Job Summary

Influencing safety assurance strategies, the full-time salaried Safety Statistician III will employ statistically rigorous analyses to evaluate and communicate the safety of autonomous driving systems while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Employ statistically sound analyses to address high-impact safety and regulatory questions
• Bridge safety and engineering teams by translating complex analyses into actionable information
• Develop automated analysis workflows for continuous safety monitoring

Required qualifications

• Advanced degree in Statistics or a closely related field (M.S. with 3+ years or PhD with 1+ year of experience)
• Strong background in applied statistics, safety analysis, and risk estimation
• Experience in autonomous vehicles or safety-critical domains
• Hands-on experience using Python for analysis
• Ability to communicate statistical concepts clearly to non-statistical audiences
