Same Day Surgery Coder

Job Summary

Seeking a Same Day Surgery Coder, the full-time remote position will review medical records for outpatient surgical procedures and assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes (CPT and ICD-10) to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.

Key responsibilities:

• Apply coding classification standards and guidelines to medical record documentation for accurate coding
• Submit provider queries to resolve documentation discrepancies and perform quality assessments of records
• Abstract and assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for all diagnoses and procedures in outpatient and surgical settings

Required qualifications:

• AHIMA/AAPC credentials
• Five or more years of auditing experience
• Experience in facility outpatient surgery and observation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Teams
• Experience working in a remote environment
