Same Day Surgery Coder

Job Summary

To support accurate billing and reimbursement, the full-time Same Day Surgery Coder will review medical records for outpatient surgical procedures and assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes (CPT and ICD-10) in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Apply coding classification standards and guidelines to ensure accurate coding of medical records
• Submit provider queries to resolve documentation discrepancies and perform quality assessments of records
• Abstract and assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for all diagnoses and procedures in outpatient and surgical settings

Required qualifications:

• AHIMA/AAPC credentials
• At least three years of experience in same day surgery coding
• Experience with outpatient surgery and observation coding, including injections, anesthesia, and infusion
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Teams
• Ability to maintain a 95% quality accuracy rate and productivity standards
