Scala Backend Developer

Job Summary

To support mission-critical government projects, the remote Scala Backend Developer will design, develop, and maintain server-side applications using Scala and related technologies, focusing on creating robust APIs and ensuring efficient data processing.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance backend solutions utilizing Scala, Java, and RESTful API development
• Write comprehensive unit tests and optimize backend services for reliability and scalability
• Engage in requirements analysis, system architecture design, and performance optimization tasks

Required qualifications

• Technical training, certification(s), or degree with 2+ years of relevant experience
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in Scala programming development
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in Java software development
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs
• Demonstrated skills with functional programming, distributed systems, Git, Maven, and SQL databases
