Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Scheduling and Authorization Coordinator will manage patient communications, insurance verifications, and scheduling of diagnostic imaging services while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Completing insurance verification and obtaining necessary authorizations for scheduled patients
- Scheduling complex exams and managing high volumes of inbound and outbound calls to educate patients on exam preparations
- Maintaining documentation and monitoring communication channels for assigned practices to ensure timely processing
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; an associate degree or 2+ years in patient scheduling or healthcare billing is preferred
- Over one year of experience in a customer service or client relations role
- Preferred experience in an office or hospital environment, particularly in a high-volume call center
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
