Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Scheduling and Authorization Coordinator will deliver exceptional customer service by managing patient communications, coordinating diagnostic imaging schedules, and verifying insurance authorizations.
Key responsibilities
- Thoroughly complete insurance verification and authorization processes for scheduled patients
- Schedule complex exams while managing high volumes of inbound and outbound calls to educate patients on exam preparation
- Monitor and manage communications through email and fax for assigned practices, ensuring timely responses and documentation
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; an associate degree or 2+ years in patient scheduling or healthcare billing is preferred
- Over one year of experience in a customer service or client relations role
- Experience in an office or hospital environment is preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Familiarity with HCA/Parallon IT systems is preferred
