Job Summary
To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time Scheduling and Authorization Coordinator will provide exceptional customer service by coordinating diagnostic imaging and procedures, managing insurance verification and authorizations, and scheduling patient appointments remotely while residing within a 2-hour radius of Jacksonville, FL.
Key responsibilities
- Completing insurance verification and obtaining necessary authorizations for scheduled patients
- Managing high volumes of inbound and outbound calls to schedule complex exams and educate patients on preparation
- Monitoring and responding to communication requests via email and fax, while maintaining accurate scheduling logs
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; an associate degree or 2+ years in patient scheduling or healthcare billing is preferred
- Over one year of experience in a customer service or client relations role
- Experience in an office or hospital environment is preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Familiarity with HCA/Parallon IT systems is preferred
