Scholarly Communications Manager

Job Summary

To advance APA Journals' open science initiatives, the full-time remote Scholarly Communications Manager will collaborate with editorial leadership and the Open Science and Methodology Expert Panel, develop strategic communication plans, and strengthen relationships with the library community.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with editorial leadership to promote open science practices and translate priorities into actionable communication plans
• Create and maintain communications for librarians and researchers that highlight APA's open science initiatives and participation pathways
• Analyze market and customer data to inform outreach strategies and track key performance indicators related to open access agreements

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Library Science, Psychology, Business Administration, or related fields
• 5 years of experience in academic libraries, library consortia, or publishing marketing, preferably with a scholarly journal publisher
• Working knowledge of the Open Science movement and Open Access journal publication
• Strategic understanding of scholarly publishing issues, including changing business models for scholarly content
• Intermediate MS Office skills, particularly strong Excel proficiency for data-informed communications
