Job Summary
To support large-scale hydrologic and geospatial data infrastructure, the full-time remote Scientific Computing & Geospatial Engineer will design and build processing pipelines, develop cloud-native data solutions, and optimize scientific workflows for national-scale applications.
Key responsibilities
- Design and build high-throughput raster and terrain processing pipelines for flood mapping and terrain analysis
- Develop and maintain cloud-native geospatial data pipelines across various formats
- Collaborate with hydrologists and scientists to translate domain requirements into reliable software solutions
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, geospatial science, hydrology, or a related field (MS or above is a strong plus)
- 3+ years of relevant software development experience
- Strong scientific Python experience, including libraries such as numpy, pandas, and geopandas
- Experience processing large geospatial datasets using GDAL or equivalent tools
- Familiarity with AWS storage and compute workflows (S3, EC2, batch)
