Scientific Content Director

Job Summary

To lead the development of compelling scientific narratives, the full-time Scientific Content Associate Director will collaborate with scientists and cross-functional teams to translate complex research into engaging content that supports institutional priorities, while mentoring a team of scientific writers in a remote or onsite capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Drive scientific storytelling by partnering with scientists to communicate groundbreaking discoveries and develop strategic messaging
• Lead the content strategy and editorial direction, collaborating with various stakeholders to maximize impact
• Create and oversee high-impact content across multiple formats, including donor proposals, presentations, and digital content

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology, genetics, biomedical sciences, life sciences, communications, or a related field; Ph.D. is a plus
• 6+ years of experience creating scientific or research-focused content for diverse audiences
• Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to translate complex science into clear content
• Strong project management skills and experience managing multiple priorities
• Experience in biomedical research, healthcare, or mission-driven research organizations is preferred
